Insulating Rubber Mat Specification as per IS 5424


Manufacturers of IS 5424: 1969 Rubber Mat for Electrical Purposes conforming specification produced by HIC Universal in anti-slip chequered top surface and cloth finish lower surface design pattern insulating mat manufactured in India located Delhi and Uttar Pradesh factories in Thickness ranging from 6mm to 25mm and Dielectric Test Voltage when new >40 kV.

High quality electrical resistant natural rubber compound is used by HIC Universal in manufacturing insulation rubber mat product, fully tested as per IS 5424 standards that covers electrical tests as to Voltage, Current Leakage, Breakdown Strength in well-equipped HIC’s Testing Laboratory and stamped on the reverse. Moreover, IS 5424 have become cold standard and replaced by Bureau of Indian Standards IS 15652 and International IEC 61111 of switchboard matting that meets more stringent safety requirements.

Insulating rubber mat is not intended to be used as “Hot” Rail Blanket and, should be borne in mind, “Not to Place Electrical Insulation Mat in Service or Use with Cracks or Punctures” as can be dangerous in the event of electrical current leakage.
